Brief
Dom is going through a marketing push and needed a new site to reflect his freshened brand as a product development consultant.
We worked together on how to best position him for his niche, experimenting with copy & service offering.
Photography
Dom didn’t have any professional headshots or suitible photos for his new site, so I pulled out the DSLR and my solitary Speedlite. We spent the afternoon taking some shots of him in different scenarios; on the phone, working on a laptop, deep in thought.
Positioning
Part of the challenge was positioning Dom as a consultant rather than a freelancer or agency. We landed on focusing on his two “productized” services: Live Rapid Prototyping and Product Success Workshop. They would be packaged up and sold as fixed prices. We took inspiration from Google sites
Design & build
We took inspiration from Google designs: bold, bright colors and simple, large typography. Using my wireframe, Dom had his designer flesh out the colour palette and visual style, with the addition of some planet-themed decorations.
